About Me

Hi there— My name is Emma, a registered counsellor with the Association of Christian Counsellors. I am dedicated to providing a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space for you to explore your feelings, thoughts, and behaviour.

At times life can be difficult. I will walk alongside you to explore what is going on. We can then begin to make changes and move forwards. Our work is tailored to meet your needs, moving at your pace as you begin to make changes. I aim to support you to develop self awareness and become the person God designed you to be.  I use a Christian counselling model that can easily be adapted for those with other faiths or no faith.

I have worked in schools for the last 30 years, initially as a class teacher and then as a school leader in the areas of special educational needs, behaviour and safeguarding. I chose to change careers after some significant life events led me to my own counselling. I was so blessed by my counsellor and the process of counselling, that I decided to train to be a counsellor myself!! I am also a single mum of four grown up children, each with their own unique challenges!

I completed my counselling training through a Christian agency called Central Counselling and Training Services based in Southampton, accredited by AIM qualifications and The Association of Christian Counsellors. I started at level 2 and worked my way up to my level 4 diploma.

I am experienced working with clients in a variety of situations including anxiety, depression, addiction, domestic abuse and grief and loss. My time in schools has also given me experience of working with families who are managing difficult situations at home and children who have experienced trauma. I have autistic children of my own and so have experience with autistic spectrum disorders as well.
